Eligibility:

• Children of Local 456 Stockton City Firefighters / Ambulance personnel active, retired, deceased.
  

• High School graduating senior.
  

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3.0 grade point average.
  

• Full time student or equivalent.
  

Procedure For Application:

• Application completed neatly and legibly
  

• Current transcripts
  

• Two letters of recommendation from teacher, counselor, employer, etc.
  

• One page type written essay explaining your career goals and future plans.
  

• Place application, transcripts and essay in folder and mail to the following address:

Applications are available at all fire stations and in the fire administration office at City Hall.

Failure to meet any of the specific criteria in eligibility, qualifications, and/or procedures for application will result in the disqualification of the applicant.

Packed With Pride

This organization was formed by Becky Misner for her son Jesse while he was in Iraq.  He was killed January 4, 2004 by a mortar attack.  While he was alive she would send a few boxes to some of her son’s friends who didn’t have anyone sending them packages. Since her son passed she has totally committed to this and is always in need of items. At this time she has well over 160 boxes going out. Local 456 is starting to collect for this organization and will be accepting items at all firehouses soon. Check with your spouses. The Stockton Fire Department Family Auxiliary is helping out where we can by informing all members as to which items are needed.  Best items are in individually wrapped packages to be broken down to go into many boxes.
